  • The aim of this course is to introduce and practice aerospace systems design processes. Two different lines of work are followed for students to get acquainted with various activities of engineering design and also to enhance their presentation capability. Lectures are mainly focused on topics of a rather general engineering design theory: these include design process, problem formulation, introduction to axiomatic design theory, product development process, task and cost analyses, and design for x, etc. Projects are focused on conceptual design of aircraft. Students are to form separate groups consisting of 3~4 students. Each group chooses their design target and work by themselves to finish the project. Students are to follow the design steps given in ‘ Design of Aircraft ’ by Thomas C. Corke. Each group presents the results of their activity every week.

    Attendance: 10%,

    Mutual evaluation: 30%

    Lecturer ’ s individual evaluation: 30% (participation, homework, presentation, attitude)
